GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Program Coordinator is a full-time paid position, subject to renewal for additional funding. We may have to offer only part-time hours until sustainable funding can be confirmed for full-time hours.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Youth Services Manager. The selected candidate will be subject to a one year probationary period.
DESCRIPTION
The information on this description indicates the specific responsibilities of this direct program delivery position and level of work to be performed. This position requires professional expertise and support as well as is required for direct program delivery.
The Coordinator has two direct program delivery streams:
- Youth Life Skills: Facilitated for middle and high school students within the school system during the academic year.
- Civics 4 Kids!: Facilitated for elementary-aged children within the community during the summer months.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
DIRECT PROGRAM DELIVERY
The primary focus of this role is the front-facing instruction and engagement of children and youth to prevent crime upstream – public safety.
Session Facilitation and Instruction: Deliver in-person and virtual sessions for the Youth Life Skills and Civics 4 Kids! programs.
Program Activity: Deliver in-person activities for youth, such as Operation Clean Sweep and volunteer skills training. These activities reinforce the skills and knowledge taught through the program while providing participants with opportunities for hands-on learning and community engagement.
PROGRAM DELIVERY SUPPORT
These duties are performed specifically to support direct program delivery and administrative functions in direct support of the program.
Scheduling & Outreach: While the Youth Services Manager will coordinate day-to-day operations by scheduling school and community sessions and spreading awareness of program availability. The coordinator will ensure that the dates and times are effectively fulfilled through punctual attendance and high-quality instruction. The coordinator will maintain a delivery-ready status and confirm all session logistics with the Manager to ensure seamless program execution. Coordination of scheduling is necessary support in direct program delivery.
Logistics & Preparation: The Manager will prepare all lesson materials, programming supplies, and technical equipment (projectors, remotes, HDMI cords) required for sessions. The coordinator will ensure that all materials, supplies, and equipment are transported to and from the sessions and used appropriately. Travel and equipment transport and setup are necessary supports in direct program delivery.
Documentation & Quality Control: The Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate records of program activities, collect participant information, and gather feedback to support the evaluation process. The Coordinator will provide the session registration for attendees at the beginning of the session and provide the evaluation forms to attendees for completion at the end of the session. The registration and evaluations will be submitted to the Manager for recordkeeping and continuous improvement. Gathering attendee registration and evaluation feedback are necessary supports in direct program delivery.
KEY REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Criminology, or a related field; or an Advanced Diploma in Community Justice Services.
· Experience: Proven experience in program delivery and youth work, specifically with high school and elementary-aged children.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, and Canva.
· Compliance: Must provide a current Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening Level 3).
· Logistics: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle are required for the transportation of program materials to delivery sites (mileage provided).
· Flexibility: Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by community delivery schedules.

● Will be scheduled to assist with fundraising like RAMA shifts and to assist with external events like Race Against Racism, internal events like luncheons and concerts, and other organization initiatives.
