Full job description

Position Summary

The Biosecurity Foreman is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with all biosecurity protocols, sanitation procedures, and safety standards to protect plant health and maintain operational continuity. This role provides leadership and oversight to the Biosecurity team, coordinates cross-functional activities, and supports risk identification, mitigation, and corrective actions related to contamination, disease, or protocol breaches. The Biosecurity Lead plays a critical role in training employees, maintaining documentation, supporting audits, and ensuring that all greenhouse sanitation and chemical-handling processes meet regulatory and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with all biosecurity protocols, SOPs, hygiene standards, and PPE requirements to protect plant health and business continuity
Identify, assess, and escalate biosecurity risks; support investigations and corrective actions related to disease, contamination, or protocol breaches
Lead, supervise, and support the Biosecurity team, and oversee other teams during biosecurity‑related activities
Act as bench strength for the Spacing and Biosecurity Coordinator when required, ensuring leadership and operational continuity
Execute and oversee all greenhouse sanitation activities, including routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and operation of sanitation equipment
Safely manage biosecurity chemicals, equipment, and PPE, including proper handling, storage, inspections, and inventory control
Train and coach employees on biosecurity practices, chemical safety, sanitation standards, and compliance expectations
Coordinate biosecurity activities with Operations, Growing, Spacing, and Maintenance teams to align with production schedules
Maintain accurate biosecurity documentation, logs, reports, and schedules to support audits and continuous improvement
Actively participate in the Biosecurity Committee and provide hands‑on support during audits, peak periods, or emergency biosecurity events

Requirements

Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising teams and coaching employees
Ability to identify, assess, and escalate risks, and support investigations and corrective actions
Experience managing chemicals and sanitation equipment, including safe handling, storage, and inventory control, is an asset
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to train and educate employees on safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
Effective communication and coordination skills to work with multiple teams
Willingness and ability to provide hands-on support during peak periods and emergency situations

Work Schedule Requirements

Full-time availability
Availability to work weekends and holidays as required

Pay: $22.00 per hour
