Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Mechanic, Class 1 Driver, and Equipment Operator to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, operating various types of machinery, and safely transporting freight and materials. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a valid commercial driver’s license, and experience with heavy equipment operation. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, efficiency, and professionalism are paramount. Lowbed, end dump and deck load knowledge. Winter road experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards.
Operate skid steer, dozer, grader and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move freight or materials within the facility or job site.
Drive commercial vehicles to transport freight or equipment between locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Assist with the loading and unloading of freight using appropriate tools and techniques.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, vehicle logs, and equipment usage.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steer, grader or other industrial machinery.
Strong automotive repair skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads, climbing ladders or stairs, and working in various weather conditions.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety standards at all times.
Prior experience with freight transportation or logistics is preferred but not required. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and maintenance functions while emphasizing safety and professionalism across all duties performed.
Ability to fill out paperwork .

Pay: $19.95-$30.00 per hour
