Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Release Engineer / Platform Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure modernization initiative. This role focuses on migrating environments from RHEL 7 to RHEL 9 and driving platform modernization efforts, including containerization, CI/CD automation, package engineering, and security remediation.
Key Responsibilities
1. OS Migration & Package Engineering
Lead migration of applications and services from RHEL 7 to RHEL 9
Resolve binary compatibility and library dependency issues
Build and compile open-source packages from source code
Troubleshoot and resolve package-related issues
Manage the lifecycle of RPM packages
2. Containerization & Orchestration
Refactor legacy container workflows from Docker to Podman
Architect, deploy, and maintain Rancher-managed Kubernetes environments
Support migration to RHEL 9 Universal Base Images (UBI)
3. Automation & CI/CD
Develop and maintain Jenkins pipelines using Groovy shared libraries
Build automation tools and integrations using Python
Enable scalable, code-driven CI/CD pipeline solutions
4. Vulnerability & Security Management
Review vulnerability scan reports and remediate identified CVEs
Ensure compliance with RHEL 9 security standards and benchmarks
Maintain secure software supply chain practices
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), especially RHEL 9
Expertise in Linux administration and troubleshooting
Proficiency in Python scripting and development
Experience with Groovy scripting (Jenkins DSL)
Hands-on experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Rancher
Strong experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with build systems such as Make, CMake, and GCC
Experience in vulnerability remediation and security hardening
Proficiency with Ansible for large-scale OS configuration

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $39.86/hour - $62.29/hour.
