Position Overview:
SFL Missions Inc. is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technologist to support the assembly, integration, and testing of advanced spacecraft and satellite systems. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will play a critical role in bringing satellite components and subsystems from design to flight-ready hardware.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision work, solving technical challenges, and contributing directly to missions that will operate in space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, integrate, and test satellite components, subsystems, and complete spacecraft in accordance with established procedures.
- Integrate structural components, electronic assemblies, and wiring harnesses into flight-ready systems.
- Perform mechanical fit checks and structural integration of spacecraft hardware.
- Apply coatings, thermal tapes, adhesives, and other materials required for spacecraft assembly.
- Operate mechanical and electrical ground support equipment, electrical test equipment, and specialized tools in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
- Perform functional testing and accurately document assembly activities, test results, and technical reports.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of assembly processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and apprentices to successfully deliver spacecraft programs.
- Coordinate the calibration and certification of laboratory equipment and assist with equipment maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Qualifications:Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in assembly, integration, and testing within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace, space, electronics, medical device, or other high-reliability industries.
- Hands-on experience integrating and testing complex electromechanical systems.
Technical Skills
- Experience using electronic test equipment and mechanical testing tools.
- Proficiency with hand tools and precision mechanical assembly.
- Strong understanding of assembly procedures and quality standards with a focus on minimizing human error.
- Ability to accurately document technical work and generate test reports.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods as required.
Education
- Diploma or degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary: $80-110K per year, commensurate with experience
· RRSP Matching: Employee contributes up to 5% of annual salary, with the company matching at 2:1 (company contributes up to 10%)
· Vacation: 4 weeks of paid vacation, plus 1 week of paid company shutdown during the Christmas holidays

The salary range listed in this posting represents the expected compensation for this position based on market conditions and internal considerations. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role requirements.
