Position Summary:
The General Manager / Operations Leader is responsible for the overall performance, execution, and operational leadership of Pacesetter Manufacturing, with direct accountability for plant operations, supply chain management, and operational systems, structure, and process discipline.
This role carries full responsibility for how work moves through the business—from engineering intent to finished product—and ensures that production, materials, and decision-making are aligned to deliver consistent output, cost control, and operational reliability.
Over time, the General Manager will lead the development and implementation of the systems, processes, and enabling technologies required to support scalable growth, improved operating performance, and increased production capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant Operations & Production Execution
- Own the performance of all production activity across the facility
- Establish and drive execution against targets for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
- Ensure production is properly planned, fully resourced, and executed with consistency and discipline
- Drive measurable improvements in labour efficiency, workflow, and operational reliability
- Implement and maintain strong production control including forward-looking plans, WIP visibility, and bottleneck management
- Maintain real-time understanding of performance and intervene where required to maintain output
2. Supply Chain Management
Supply chain is a core operating function of this role.
- Own purchasing decisions as an extension of production and engineering requirements
- Operate as a technical buyer capable of understanding specifications and challenging cost or design where appropriate
- Ensure material availability aligned with production without reliance on expediting
- Establish forward visibility into material requirements
- Eliminate disruption caused by poor coordination between purchasing, engineering, and production
- Establish control across raw material, WIP, and finished goods
- Build systems for inventory accuracy, traceability, and consumption visibility
3. Systems & Operational Discipline
- Establish and enforce operating systems across production, purchasing, and work order execution
- Ensure systems are practical, consistently applied, and scalable
- Align engineering, purchasing, and production into a coordinated workflow
- Identify structural gaps and resolve through process improvement and accountability
- Lead the evolution of systems and enabling technologies to support growth and performance
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5–15+ years in manufacturing operations (steel or heavy manufacturing preferred)
- Proven track record of delivering operational performance
- Strong understanding of production flow, labour productivity, and material integration
- Demonstrated ability to build structure and improve systems
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems is an asset

Pay: $115,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
