Job Description
We are seeking an Experienced Model Room Dental Technician who understands that a perfect final restoration starts with a flawless foundation. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the high-precision fabrication of working models, precise articulation, and rigorous quality control of incoming impressions.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional manual dexterity, an eye for microscopic detail, and an understanding of dental anatomy and analog implant mechanics.
Key Responsibilities
- Impression Evaluation: Inspect incoming traditional and physical impressions for defects, distortions, or inadequate margins before pouring.
- Model Fabrication & Die Prep: Pour, trim, and base high-quality stone models. Perform precise die pinning, sectioning, and ditching/trimming margins under magnification.
- Articulation & Mounting: Accurately mount models on various semi-adjustable and fully adjustable articulators using bite registrations.
- Analog Implant Models: Fabricate complex analog implant models, including the accurate placement of lab analogs and soft tissue/gingival masking.
- Quality Control & Workflow: Maintain a clean, calibrated workspace (trimmers, pin index systems) and ensure all cases meet strict lab quality standards before moving to the design or waxing departments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in a dental laboratory model department.
- Technical Skill: Proven expertise in advanced die preparation, ditching margins, and complex implant model fabrication.
- Anatomical Knowledge: Solid understanding of dental morphology, occlusion, and tissue structures.
- Precision & Pace: Exceptional hand-eye coordination with the ability to work efficiently without compromising micro-level accuracy.
- Language: Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) to document case discrepancies.
