ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Production Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in performing routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, comply with safety regulations and operating procedures, ensure safe and efficient operation at King Cole processing plant. This role involves preventive maintenance, record keeping, responding to system alarms and supporting the reliable operation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep our operations running smoothly by executing preventative maintenance programs aligned with food safety and quality standards
- Set up and operate equipment to support efficient, high-quality production
- Stay hands-on during production—monitoring performance and making real-time adjustments to keep things on track
- Troubleshoot and complete repairs quickly and effectively to minimize downtime
- Perform all maintenance work with a strong focus on food safety and contamination prevention
- Oversee refrigeration systems and maintain accurate daily logs and documentation
- Use only approved, food-grade materials and lubricants to meet safety standards
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow GMP, HACCP, and company policies to uphold our high quality standards
- Champion workplace safety by following protocols and reporting hazards right away
- Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and efficiency
- Be an active part of our preventative and predictive maintenance programs
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A 4th Class Power Engineer license is highly regarded as an asset
- Refrigeration system knowledge
- Millwright or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of food processing/manufacturing equipment
- Understands hazards related to maintenance tasks
- Experience with GMP, HACCP/Food Safety would be an advantage but is not essential
- Comfortable working in a cold and wet environment with raw poultry products
- Physically fit able to lift up to 50lbs; standing and walking for extended periods of time; bending and lifting
- Interacts respectfully with team members, supervisors and managers
- Detail-oriented and reliable for emergencies
