This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum of 3 days per week – subject to change at any time.
As a Senior GW Test Engineer, you will play a critical part in projects and initiatives across the organization, including leading the manual testing services delivery using industry standard best practices.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Developers to deliver based on the established QA standards and processes.
You possess positive relationship-building and outstanding communication skills that you will use to collaborate closely with internal and external IT teams, and mentor and support junior test engineers on the team.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Responsible to review user stories, requirements, and technical design specification documents to provide timely feedback from a Quality Assurance perspective.
- Responsible for design / build / update / execute of existing and new regression test suites.
- Responsible to create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, estimates, complex test scenarios and test cases, and lead / execute as per agreed delivery plan.
- Delivering timely testing estimates and scope of work with coverage and traceability to business / test requirements, scenarios, and test cases.
- Provide test artifact walkthroughs to the delivery team for review and feedback.
- Performing all aspects of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Effectively use testing tools like JIRA/Zephyr, Selenium to build / modify and execute manual and automated test cases (where applicable) and bugs management.
- Proactively identify and manage testing-related risks and escalate when required.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., developers, business analysts, scrum masters, product owners) and provide feedback from testing perspectives.
- Meet occasional challenging deadlines demand and perform effectively under pressure.
- Maintain a positive, efficient, and collaborative working environment and influence others.
- Being the voice of quality, raising issues when needed, and highlighting delivery risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant company IT testing standards / controls to ensure developed software changes achieve the quality required to satisfy the business needs.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 5+ years of dedicated hands-on experience in software testing as a senior team member.
- 5+ years proven experience in GW PolicyCenter within Config and Rating testing.
- 5+ years of experience in the P&C Insurance Industry (Auto and Property LOB).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of policy life cycle in GW and respective transactions like New Submission, Policy Change, Renewals, Cancellations, Reinstatement, Rewrite, etc.
- Ability to meet timelines and perform effectively under pressure.
- Great attitude and work ethics (Punctual, Creativity, Detail Oriented and Team Player).
- Embrace change and demonstrate commitment to simplification and continuous improvement.
- Good verbal and technical writing skills with ability to clearly describe sophisticated processes and tasks.
- Outstanding delivery and problem-solving skills – the ability to take a problem from start to finish and drive towards the desired outcome.

- Good understanding of the Software Development / Testing Life Cycle (SD/TLC), and the importance of testing to ensure quality and reliability of the changes.
- Experience with common tools & processes such as JIRA, Zephyr, Browser Developer Tools, Agile/Scrum delivery.
- Aptitude in IT with an interest in expanding your IT skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and become familiar with the software product being tested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT is required.
- 5+ years' experience in Software Development and/or Quality Assurance.
- Test Engineering Certification from an industry-recognized provider.
- GW Associate Certification.
**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
