The Opportunity
We are seeking a CPA-designated Manager, Accounting & FP&A who is equally comfortable managing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting strategic financial planning and analysis.
This is not a purely supervisory role. The successful candidate will be expected to actively perform accounting work while also helping improve processes, implement controls, and provide financial insights to management.
You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting audits, managing cash and treasury activities, and helping leadership understand the financial performance of the business.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, intellectually curious, and excited about helping build systems and processes within a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are complete and accurate
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances
Accounts Payable, Treasury & Cash Management
- Oversee and actively participate in accounts payable processing
- Monitor cash balances and cash flow forecasts
- Support banking relationships and treasury activities
- Assist with debt, financing, and capital project accounting as required
- Develop and improve cash management procedures and controls
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Track key business metrics and performance indicators
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate new initiatives and investments
- Support strategic planning and growth initiatives
Audit, Controls & Compliance
- Lead annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Assist in implementing and strengthening internal controls
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
Systems & Process Improvement
- Help scale finance operations as the company grows
- Improve accounting workflows and reporting processes
- Create documentation and standard operating procedures
- Support automation initiatives that improve accuracy and efficiency
QualificationsRequired
- CPA designation (completed and in good standing)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, and general accounting principles
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting external audits
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience in a high-growth company, startup, or entrepreneurial environment
- Experience working in a public accounting or audit firm environment is considered a strong asset
- Experience in the energy, infrastructure, construction, engineering, technology, or related industries
