We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide key support to our principal, associate counsel and one of our associate lawyers in the areas of insolvency, foreclosure and commercial litigation.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct litigation support to three lawyers, managing competing priorities and deadlines across both desks.
- Draft and proofread service letters, correspondence, and standard court documents with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Prepare and conduct conflict checks in accordance with firm policies.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of Chambers records, including document binders and court filings.
- Coordinate service and filing of court documents at various levels of court, ensuring compliance with the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules , BIA General Rules, and applicable deadlines.
- Manage and maintain electronic and physical litigation files, including opening, closing, and ongoing file maintenance.
- Schedule hearings, discoveries, and meetings; manage both lawyers' calendars and court dates.
- Support billing processes, including preparing invoices and responding to general accounting requests.
- Liaise professionally with clients, counsel, court staff, and internal team members.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in commercial or civil litigation.
- Legal Administrative Assistant diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of BC litigation rules, court procedures, and document formatting requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear, concise, and professional correspondence.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks for more than one lawyer in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office and legal practice management software; experience with Soluno/Action Step Accounting, ACL5, and Netdocuments is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collegial team, demonstrating initiative and a client-focused approach.
- Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
