Position Summary:
Production Supervisors are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the production floor, including adherence to production schedules, managing labour operating within budget and effective management of all production associates and related activities.
The Production Supervisor will report to the General Manager or Production Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
· Exercises supervisory control over the company’s day-to-day production activities, including but not limited to the planning, assigning, directing and coordinating of activities relating to shift operations, safety, quality, production, training and employee relations.
· Supervise production team Associates and provide direction regarding work objectives and expectations.
Production Planning, Scheduling & Reporting
· Analyze work orders to determine production schedules.
· Tracks and reports on daily production; and drives improvements where necessary.
· Ensures that shift production reporting is processed accurately and on time.
Timekeeping & Attendance Management
· Is responsible for the accurate timekeeping of all production associates and completing timecards of the team members.
· Monitors, maintains and records employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies (e.g. vacation, medical day, bereavement, jury duty, etc.).
Quality Management & Process Control
· Follow ISO 9001 quality standards and procedures and ensure that finished products meet
· established quality requirements.
· Works to improve first run capabilities by identifying repeat offender(s) and developing corrective action.
· Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
· Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
· Participates, leads and monitors process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, 5S, lean manufacturing, etc.
· Participates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an ongoing basis
· implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve plant productivity.
Staffing, Training & Development
· Assists in determining and managing appropriate manpower requirements.
· Oversees training of new and transferred employees on their job duties and responsibilities, and cross trains as necessary.
Performance Management & Employee Relations
· Collaborates with the Production/Plant Manager and Human Resources Manager in the
· administration of disciplinary action, when necessary.
· Ensures timely completion of performance reviews based on established schedule.
· Provides timely feedback on work performance and makes recommendations regarding future work assignments.
· Initiates or suggests plans to motivate associates to achieve departmental goals.
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Responds to, and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
· Takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division’s safety goals.
· Ensures all Company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently adhered to
· Comply with duties, responsibilities and requirements as outlined in the company handbook and OHSA.
· Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals in support of business objectives.
Education, Skills and Abilities:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of two (2) years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably Fabrication.
· Prior experience with metal cutting, forming, welding (manual and robotic) and machining
· Ability to establish goals and guide strategic and operational planning.
· Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate a vision, educate
· individuals and teams, and influence decisions
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and computer skills
Pay Transparency:
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000
