At our location in Edmonton (AB), we are looking for a CNC Machinist Programmer to join the local team.
Day shift: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; Monday to Friday
The ideal candidate has strong experience with CNC mills and lathes (Haas preferred), ESPRIT programming, and the ability to produce precision components to tight tolerances. You will be responsible of (but no limited to ):
- Program, setup and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes)
- Develop and optimize CNC programs (ESPRIT preferred)
- Operate and troubleshoot Haas CNC equipment
- Interpret engineering dreawings and plan machining processes
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances (+/- 0.0005")
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies
- Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring tools (micrometers, claipers, gauges)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and improve efficiency
- Maintain production logs and quality documentation
General
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper machine functionnality
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Support team members and mentor apprentices/junior machinist as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Machinist certification preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Strong CNC programming experience (ESPRIT preferred)
- 2-4 years’ experience, preferably in the compression industry
- Experience with precision, low-volume, or custom components
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks)
- Ability to read and modify G-codes
- Experience with CNC mills and lathes (Haas preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and tolerances
- Good computer and mathematical skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
