Full job description

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Drapery Workroom Manager to oversee our custom drapery workroom.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on fabrication work with scheduling, organization, and quality control. The role offers excellent work-life balance and a flexible daytime schedule.

Hours

24–30 hours per week
Closed Fridays during the summer months
Two-week Christmas shutdown
Additional summer shutdown week
Daytime hours only

Responsibilities

Manage workflow within the drapery workroom
Schedule and prioritize projects
Coordinate incoming orders and production timelines
Perform cutting and layout of drapery (approximately 1–2 days per week)
Review work for accuracy and quality control
Manage fabric, lining, hardware, and workroom supplies
Coordinate with project managers
Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and ensure projects are completed to specification
Maintain an organized and efficient workroom environment

Qualifications

Experience in custom drapery, soft furnishings, sewing, upholstery, or a related field an asset
Strong understanding of drapery construction and fabrication methods an asset
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to read work orders and specifications accurately
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
