This role offers end-to-end ownership of Service Asset and Configuration Management, giving you the opportunity to shape the CMDB, drive CSDM alignment, and establish governance-not just maintain data. You will work extensively in ServiceNow across CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITAM, with meaningful influence on Incident and Change outcomes.
Title: Specialist, Service Asset and Configuration Management
Salary: $91,172 - $101,898 - $123,351 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Metro Vancouver office located on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy).
About the role
The Service Asset and Configuration Management Specialist role is crucial in establishing and maintaining our ITIL-based service management practice, with a focus on configuration and asset management using ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will possess strong process knowledge, ITIL certifications, and expertise in ServiceNow, particularly in the areas of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT Asset Management.
Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the implementation and ongoing management of Service Asset and Configuration Management processes.

Develop, maintain, and optimize the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.

Establish and enforce policies, standards, and procedures for asset and configuration management aligned with ITIL best practices.

Collaborate with IT teams to identify, track, and manage configuration items (CIs) and assets throughout their lifecycle.

Configure and manage data in ServiceNow modules related to Asset Management and CMDB, including Discovery and Service Mapping.

Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of the CMDB and asset inventory to maintain data quality.

Develop and implement processes for managing software licenses, hardware warranties, and vendor contracts.

Create and maintain documentation for configuration management processes, including the Configuration Management Plan.

Provide training and support to IT staff on configuration and asset management best practices and ServiceNow usage.

Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into asset utilization, CMDB health, and compliance status.

Collaborate with Change Management to assess and communicate the impact of changes on CIs and services.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Stay current with industry trends, ITIL practices, and ServiceNow capabilities to drive continuous improvement.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be;
Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical fields
Occupational Certification

ITIL 4 Foundation Certificate, Essential

ITIL Practitioner, Preferred

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Preferred

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB, Preferred
Experience

5 to 7 years of related experience in Service Management and Service Management analytics related fields

Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow ITSM, particularly in Configuration Management and Asset Management modules.

Strong background in ITIL processes and best practices

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
