Pembina Pipeline’s Liquids, Transportation and Fractionation asset team is recruiting a Field Operator based out of Sherwood Park. Reporting to the Foreman, Northwest Area, this role is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of pipeline infrastructure supporting the transportation of crude oil, condensate, NGL and ethane across Alberta.
This role follows a Monday to Friday day shift, and supports a geographically diverse asset base across the Fort Saskatchewan, Namao and Redwater areas with regular travel between sites. As Pembina continues to grow its asset base and advance strategic priorities across safety, reliability and operational excellence, this role contributes directly by ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective field operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate Pembina’s values by prioritizing safety, collaborating effectively, and contributing to an inclusive and high-performance work environment.

Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” and adherence to Life Saving Rules;

Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally responsible manner;

Perform a broad range of operational, instrumentation and electrical (I&E), and mechanical activities in support of pipeline operations;

Maintain daily pipeline operations including measurement, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;

Perform and support routine and non-routine pipeline maintenance activities;
-
Respond to system upsets, determine root causes and implement solutions;

Travel regularly between sites to support operational activities such as meter proving, pigging operations and facility inspections across the asset network;

Take ownership of an assigned geographic area, maintaining accountability for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of associated assets;

Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, the public and industry partners;

Supervise contractors and oversee maintenance activities as required;

Maintain facilities, equipment and vehicles in a clean and orderly condition;

Support and contribute to Pembina’s culture by prioritizing safety, fostering inclusion and collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders;

Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic field environment; and

Experienced, adaptable and team-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence;

Relevant, progressive pipeline experience, with demonstrated ability to independently manage field operations in a dynamic environment;

Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems in a pipeline or industrial environment;

Ability to read and interpret pipeline construction drawings, schematics and alignment drawings;

Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative and accountable team environment, including proactively asking questions, supporting peers and maintaining high performance standards;

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies and operational processes, and apply those learnings effectively in a fast-paced and evolving field environment;

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing operational demands;

Strong written and verbal communication skills;
-
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite;

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
-
Experience with SAP and underground facility locating would be considered an asset.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract. The successful candidate must reside within 100 km of Sherwood Park, Alberta.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
