Position Summary

The Banquet Manager oversees all banquet service operations, labor deployment, and event execution standards across conference and event spaces. This role ensures seamless coordination between departments, maintains high levels of guest satisfaction, and is actively involved in the on-the-floor execution of events. The Banquet Manager is a hands-on leadership role that supports service delivery during live events while also managing planning, staffing, and operational oversight.

Core Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate staffing, scheduling, and supervision for banquet events, conferences, meetings, weddings, and special functions.
Actively participate in on-the-floor event execution, supporting service flow, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth guest experience during live events.
Review banquet event orders, floor plans, service requirements, and turnover schedules to ensure full operational readiness.
Coordinate with culinary, stewarding, janitorial, and management teams to ensure efficient setup, service execution, and breakdown of events.
Inspect function spaces before, during, and after events to verify setup quality, cleanliness, service readiness, and compliance with facility standards.
Coach, support, and supervise banquet captains, servers, and porters on service standards, room presentation, safety, and efficiency.
Monitor guest feedback during events and take immediate corrective action where required.
Address operational issues including service delays, equipment concerns, damages, shortages, or staffing gaps in real time.
Support training and onboarding of banquet team members to maintain consistent service standards.
Ensure smooth event transitions, including room turnovers, resets, and multi-event coordination.

SOP and Compliance Expectations

Enforce banquet service SOPs, setup and reset procedures, sanitation standards, and event turnover requirements.
Ensure adherence to opening and closing checklists for all function spaces.
Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety standards, including safe lifting practices and crowd/event safety awareness.
Ensure prompt escalation and resolution of safety, sanitation, or maintenance issues.
Support accessible service delivery and maintain safe, clean, and professional public areas at all times.
Monitor adherence to service timelines, guest safety protocols, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Previous banquet management, catering supervision, or hospitality operations management experience in a large-volume venue preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and guest service skills.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment.
Ability to manage teams while actively participating in event execution.
Experience coordinating multiple departments in a live event setting.

Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal compensation guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires frequent walking and standing throughout event spaces, moderate lifting, active involvement in event setup and breakdown, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Banquet Manager is expected to be present and hands-on during live events while supervising operations.
