Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware & Networking Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure and hardware systems. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, security protocols, virtualization, and system administration to ensure optimal performance, security, and high availability of our IT environment. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network support activities, troubleshoot issues, and implement innovative solutions aligned with industry best practices.

Duties

Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPNs, MPLS, and SD-WAN solutions.
Implement and maintain network security measures such as firewalls (Cisco ASA), Cisco ISE, PKI, IDS/IPS systems, and encryption protocols to safeguard organizational data.
Support data center operations by managing VMware vSphere environments, SAN storage solutions, and server virtualization platforms like Citrix and Hyper-V.
Administer network protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, EDI/Routing protocols to ensure reliable data transmission across diverse environments.
Manage network devices such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, switches (Ethernet), and load balancers to optimize network traffic flow.
Perform system administration tasks across multiple operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), Solaris, BSD variants, openSUSE, macOS.
Automate network and system configurations using scripting languages such as Bash Shell Scripting, PowerShell, Python, Ansible for DevOps workflows.
Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG Network Monitor, Splunk for real-time analytics and troubleshooting.
Maintain high availability architectures with load balancing solutions and disaster recovery strategies ensuring minimal downtime.
Support cloud integrations with AWS and Azure platforms by managing APIs and virtualized resources through vSphere or Citrix environments.
Conduct regular security assessments including VPN configurations (IPsec), SSL/TLS management for HTTPS traffic encryption.
Collaborate on SDLC processes for deploying new infrastructure projects following Agile methodologies.
Document network architecture diagrams and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.

Experience

Proven experience in network engineering or system administration roles with a focus on enterprise-level infrastructure management.
Hands-on expertise with Cisco networking equipment (routers/switches), Juniper devices, or similar hardware platforms.
Strong background in configuring and supporting firewalls (Cisco ASA), VPNs (IPsec), load balancers (F5 or similar).
Experience managing virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere or Citrix XenServer is essential.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure along with related APIs is highly desirable.
Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash Shell Scripting, PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
Knowledge of network security best practices including PKI management, LDAP/Active Directory integration, SSL/TLS encryption standards.
Understanding of advanced routing protocols (BGP/EIGRP/OSPF) and MPLS networks for large-scale enterprise connectivity.
Experience working within Agile development cycles (SDLC) in a fast-paced environment is preferred. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge networking projects in a collaborative environment that values innovation and professional growth.
