Monitors new and revised legislation and ensures Dortec’s compliance with legislated requirements.

Coordinates activities related to ISO 45001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 and assist with successful conformance on all periodic IATF 16949 and Magna Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) audits.

Provides timely data and recommendations to support continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance, including maintaining key metrics (e.g., HSELinx, DOT score).

Prepares QOS and Accident / Incident Trend charts and update Subgroup KPI's as required.

Assist with WSIB claims management and the return-to-work program, to ensure employees return to their pre-injury duties in a timely manner.

Provides guidance and direction for occupational hygiene concerns, hazardous material management, and ergonomics issues

Provides administrative support to the Joint Health and Safety Committee, (e.g. hazard identification and accident prevention) and coordinates follow-up actions on the committee’s recommendations

Coordinates the Health and Safety awareness program, including Employee Communication Meeting presentations, Safety Talks and Safety Bulletins

Reviews all accident/incident investigations and monthly inspection reports and provides leadership in developing corrective actions, auditing to ensure closure of required actions

Liaisons with Maintenance and Manufacturing departments to ensure safety and ergonomic compliance on all new and existing equipment
-
Set-up and coordinates follow-up actions on the workplace Zero Harm Program and monthly Health and Safety Inspections

Prepares Health, Safety and training needs analysis, develops presentations and coordinates training to ensure adequate safety awareness at all levels of the organization

Develops and maintains Physical Demands Analyses and Risk Assessments

Manages Dortec’s participation in the Magna Safety Group Program
-
Manages the Contractor Safety Program in conjunction with the Purchasing Department
-
Updates emergency response documentation (i.e. evacuation checklist, fire plan, etc.) and coordinates annual emergency drills
-
Maintains strict confidentiality of all information obtained, written or verbal, within the Human Resources Department.

Follows and models safe working practices and promotes safety in the workplace.
-
Assists in the preparation of Health and Safety Strategic Plan.

Maintains a professional service-oriented manner within the company and supports the corporate image as per Human Resources departmental objectives and company policies.

Performs special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
-
Completion of Bachelor’s degree or community college diploma/certificate related to Health and Safety.

1 to less than 3 years of work-related experience.
-
Sound Knowledge of all relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation
-
Proficient in office-related computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Excellent communication skills, verbal, written

Strong attention to detail

Maintain confidentiality and integrity
-
Able to work under pressure.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000
