Assistant Manager in Training / Budtender

Full-Time Position
Cannabis Corner is looking for an Assistant Manager in Training to join our team.
This position is ideal for someone who wants more than a budtending role and is interested in learning the day-to-day operations of cannabis retail management. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training in all aspects of store operations and leadership while continuing to provide exceptional customer service on the sales floor.
As a small retail business, learning as you go is a major part of the job. We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient, adaptable, willing to ask questions when needed, and comfortable taking on new challenges. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but you will be expected to learn, problem solve, and grow.
Training Period
The first month of employment will consist of a structured training period.
Training shifts will vary and may include:
- Opening shifts
- Closing shifts
- Mid-day crossover shifts
- Receiving and inventory shifts
- Shadowing management duties
- Administrative and office tasks
Hours may vary during the training period and may not consistently reach full-time hours each week.
Upon successful completion of training, the position will transition into the regular full-time schedule outlined below.
Regular Schedule
- Thursday: 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- Friday: 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- Saturday: 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- Sunday: 3:30 PM – 10:30 PM
- Monday: 3:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Please note that Monday may become an 11:30 PM closing shift in the future based on operational needs.
What You'll Learn
This position is designed to provide direct exposure to management responsibilities, including:
- Key holder responsibilities
- Store opening and closing procedures
- Staff scheduling
- Hiring and onboarding support
- Employee training and coaching
- Inventory management and adjustments
- Product ordering and receiving
- Compliance procedures and record keeping
- POS system operation and troubleshooting
- POS dashboard reporting and analytics
- Basic IT troubleshooting and support
- Sales reporting and store operations
- Customer service and conflict resolution
Inventory Requirements
Inventory is mandatory and completed quarterly.
Current inventory dates are:
- July 31
- November 30
- February 28
- May 31
These dates may occasionally change based on operational requirements. Successful applicants must be available to attend inventory counts.

Requirements
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must hold a valid Selling It Right certificate or be willing to obtain one before starting
- Previous retail experience is considered an asset
- Previous cannabis retail experience is considered an asset but is not required
