This role is an in‑office position (5 days per week). Our team is highly collaborative, and much of our work benefits from in‑person co‑creation, relationship‑building, and hands‑on partnership with leaders across the organization. Our Financial Systems office is looking for a Manager, EPM and Analytics Applications. The individual will oversee the sustainment and administration of the OneStream Planning, Financial Close, Reconciliation& Reporting System to ensure that both Budget, Forecast and Actual financial and position (Headcount and FTE) data uploaded and reported from the system is complete, accurate and available on a timely basis to the organization. This position will manage the existing OneStream Admin and Technology Lead positions which support the maintenance of the application artifacts, integration scripts, security, metadata and data within the OneStream Planning & Reporting System.
In addition, the Manager, EPM & Analytics Applications will understand EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) product vision, business needs and develop product roadmap to ensure alignment of goals and plans. Through the development of product roadmap, the manager will advise the business on how they can leverage technology and innovation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their business.
What will I be doing?
- Discusses the data issue, root cause and recommendations with the source system stewards for remediation.
- Oversees the implementation of procedural changes and/or the testing of new functionality or system enhancements to maintain the integrity of the data.
- Oversees the management of the EPM OneStream Planning & Reporting System to ensure that both Budget and Actual financial and position (Headcount and FTE) data uploaded and reported from the system is complete, accurate and available on a timely basis to the organization.
- The OneStream system houses the Financial Close, Budgeting and Management Reporting of Revenues, Expenses, Positions (both Headcount and FTE), Capitalization and Cost Allocations for the Organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve the applications and business processes as part of LEAN. Lead the business transformation for PBF (Planning, Budget & Forecasting)
- Provide leadership in the delivery of highly complex project initiatives and the sustainment for the entire suite of EPM OneStream applications
- Define and approve project deliverables, scope and timelines – the what, who, how and when of a project. Work with clients, internal I&IT specialists, external consultants and other stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are clear and accurate
- Lead, control and coordinate all EPM systems, processes, procedures and administrative activities, including process changes, and project and operational documentation requirements
- Stablished proper documentation and testing procedures following ITIL framework
- Communicates within all levels of organization and interact with multiple stakeholders to achieve agreement on scope and schedule of projects
- Facilitated business requirements gathering between the consultants and the client
- Provide guidance to functional and technical design and ensure that the appropriate level of analysis and testing are performed
- Manage change management process for application functional and technical enhancements in a response to business needs. This ensures successful deployment with no regression of existing system functionality and no impact to data integrity
- Provides direction to the OneStream Administrator and contractors in the trouble-shooting of user, system or data issues which the OneStream Admin is unable to handle him/herself by identifying root causes of the situation, providing a solution and directing the fix.
- Develops an intake process whereby the business can request data/reports that are not available or enhancement existing reports.
- Develop and conduct training, support and guidance to the organization on EPM OneStream application and Analytics application features and enhancements.
- Manages staff involved in maintaining the system for EPM corporate financial planning and reporting (OneStream Planning, Financial Close, Reconciliation & Reporting System), and Analytics application.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and motivation to employees in their work processes and performance, to ensure they are equipped with the necessary tools and information to enable their full engagement; monitors the achievement of performance objectives and develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps
- Manages transition plan to retain knowledge from third party contractors to ensure knowledge is retained in teams and with staff internal to Metrolinx.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science or business administration or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated years of progressive experience in a combination of finance, IT, business process analysis and data governance.
- Certifications or Designations: One of: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Accountant (CA), ITIL Foundations Certifications or Agile certification would be assets
- Experience establishing business processes, data quality control, data conversion, data stewardship and metadata management
- Understanding of information and information technology and its application to business problems
- Ability to understand and communicate complex business requirements to technology teams
- Experience with all aspects of the product development cycle as well as Agile methodology
- Strong experience in functional area processes and procedures with direct systems experience related to financial (budget, accounting), position (compensation, benefits, workforce planning), and project (salary capitalization) data.
- Knowledge and hands-on use of software and database systems used in financial reporting (e.g. SQL, Microsoft Excel) and OneStream Planning, Financial Close and Reconciliation, OneStream QuickView, Oracle eBS, Analytics
- Verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities to prepare status reports, updates and brief management; provide information and explanations of a technical nature to a range of internal stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, high-attention to detail and problem-solving ability to address data and reporting requirements
