About the Role
Streetscape is hiring an AI-First Native Developer to join our growing AI-focused development team. You'll be working alongside a close-knit group of builders, contributing directly to the products that drive our business.
We're not looking for someone who has "used ChatGPT a few times." We're looking for someone who already lives inside tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI-native development environments - someone who thinks in prompts, specs, and agent loops as naturally as they think in functions and classes. If you're the kind of developer who sees a repetitive engineering task and instinctively reaches for an agent to handle it, read on.
What You'll Do
You'll design, prototype, and ship AI-enabled software that accelerates both our internal engineering velocity and our customer-facing products. Concretely, that means:
- Participating in and progressively leading technical ideation for AI-powered features across our product initiatives.
- Building prototype applications that demonstrate new value propositions, and iterating them toward market-ready releases.
- Collaborating with product, leadership, and business stakeholders to turn early-stage ideas into working software - quickly.
- Exploring and implementing modern stacks and AI integration patterns alongside the engineering team.
- Balancing innovation with time-to-market discipline. We prototype fast, but we ship.
What We're Looking For
Required - your application will not be considered without these:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience in a modern stack (TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Python, Go, Rust, or similar).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools - Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Aider, or comparable. You should be able to describe a specific project where an agentic workflow meaningfully changed how you built or shipped something.
- Comfort working with LLM APIs directly (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) - prompt design, tool use / function calling, and handling structured outputs.
- Solid fundamentals: version control, testing, code review, and cloud-based development (AWS, GCP, Railway, Azure, or similar).
- Strong written communication. Much of AI-native development is writing - specs, prompts, agent instructions, PR descriptions.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Supabase, Next.js, or PHP/CakePHP (parts of our current stack).
- Background in real estate, construction, architecture, or regulatory/compliance tech.
- Marketing or customer-facing product sensibility - understanding why a feature matters, not just what it does.
- Prior startup or small-team experience where you owned features end-to-end.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience. Discussed at interview stage.
- Variable compensation incentive: Performance-based variable compensation tied to the impact of your work. Details discussed at offer stage.
- Equipment budget: An initial budget for approved computer equipment and personal productivity gear to create your optimal development environment.
- Health & Wellness spending account: $1,500/year to start, increasing $100 annually plus milestone bumps. Use it however supports your health and well-being.
- Time off: Up to 20 days per year total — 10 vacation days (accrued at 0.83/month, increasing with tenure), up to 45 hours of personal/wellness time, and up to 4 company-granted days (typically around the holidays).
Growth Trajectory
This is not a static role. We're actively building out our AI-enabled development team, with plans to add developers regularly as we scale. That means:
- Peer collaboration and mentorship as the team grows.
- Leadership opportunities for developers who build expertise in our systems.
- Increasing project diversity as new initiatives come online.
You'd be joining early enough to shape both the technology and the team culture.
How to Apply
