Work environment
The Jasper Field Unit manages a large, varied and highly visible asset portfolio that supports visitor experience, environmental stewardship and preservation, and staff operations. The portfolio includes buildings, utilities, roads, bridges, trails, campgrounds, visitor facilities, heritage assets, water and wastewater systems, petroleum storage tanks, and remote/backcountry infrastructure.
This position is one of the builder roles in a new Facilities and Fleet team. The Field Unit is bringing together asset record management, asset data quality, current replacement value updates, component-level asset information, maintenance planning, and code-compliance inspection that has previously been spread across different groups and systems.
The work combines field verification and desktop data remediation. Some days will involve visiting sites and documenting what is actually in the field; other days will involve Maximo clean-up, spreadsheets, records reconciliation, deficiency tracking and preparing practical summaries for the EG-06 Facilities and Fleet Supervisor, Asset Manager, trades, operations and other stakeholders.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys detail, accuracy, practical field work, building useful tracking systems and turning messy information into reliable records that support maintenance and capital planning.
