Raise is currently hiring a Business Analyst for Asset Operations on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a Liquids Pipelines Company operating with more than 4,000 kilometers of crude oil pipelines in North America providing low-risk, liquids transportation and storage business, safely moving oil between some of the world’s most critical markets
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As the Business Analyst for Asset Operations, you will act as the single source of truth for Liquid Field Operations (LFO) leadership. In this role, you will transform raw operational and financial data into actionable insights through sophisticated metrics reporting, advanced visualization mechanisms, business case development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partnering closely with Operations, Corporate Services, and Engineering teams, you will leverage modern analytics tools to drive system efficiency, ensure process safety, and optimize financial performance across our clients asset footprint.
Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Analysis

Own the forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis workflows for all LFO cost centers. Regularly update and maintain the integrity of budgeting and forecasting tools (including 4&8 forecast deliverables).

Prepare and deliver high-quality monthly budget analysis reports and strategic presentations for senior leadership, providing absolute clarity on spend profiles.

Track and audit all capital tool and fleet vehicle purchases, ensuring costs and expenditures remain accurate and current.

Facilitate and manage organizational structure changes in close coordination with Cost Tracking and Corporate Accounting teams.

Workforce & Performance Analytics

Build, maintain, and continuously improve the LFO Scorecard to provide an accurate, clear picture of the state of the organization.

Conduct comprehensive work type and labor analysis to evaluate workforce utilization and efficiency.

Monitor and report on Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) changes within the LFO business unit.

Continuous Improvement & Safety Analysis

Process Mapping: Map operational workflows to identify, design, and execute business process efficiencies that measurably improve safety, system reliability, regulatory compliance, and spend profiles.

Provide dedicated analysis and reporting on key process safety metrics to support risk-mitigation strategies.

Challenge the status quo by leveraging data to advocate for new ways of working and supporting teams through operational transitions.

Technical Qualifications & Requirements

High proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Power Apps, and Dynamics 365 (D365) to build robust dashboarding and automation workflows.

Experience integrating Microsoft Copilot and automated tools into workflows to maximize analytical efficiency.

Solid foundational understanding of complex budgeting processes, cost trending, and financial variance analysis.
-
Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint).
-
Proven capability in structured process mapping and operational efficiency analysis.
Qualifications
-
3 to 5+ years of specialized experience as an intermediate-to-senior Business Analyst or Operations Analyst working with engineering, operations, or logistics business unit at a major infrastructure company

Direct experience working within infrastructure, utilities, or heavy industry (ideally liquid field operations/pipelines).

Proven experience managing forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis workflows for operational cost centers.

Hands-on experience delivering 4&8 forecast models, maintaining data integrity for capital tools/fleet vehicle spend, and preparing monthly strategic spend presentations for senior leadership.

Experience tracking organizational health and headcount metrics - conducting comprehensive work type, labor, and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) efficiency analysis.

Experience with formal process mapping to design and execute business process improvements that measurably impact system reliability, regulatory compliance, or financial performance.

Power BI & Microsoft Stack Expertise - High proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Power Apps, and Dynamics 365 (D365) to build robust dashboards, alongside advanced Excel and PowerPoint mastery. Experience integrating Microsoft Copilot or similar automated tools into workflows is a major asset.

Proven ability to build consensus and communicate complex data clearly across Operations, Corporate Services, Engineering, and Corporate Accounting teams.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
