Position Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations while ensuring production equipment is properly operated, maintained, and kept in optimal working condition.
This is a hands-on position involving production operation, equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and compliance with GMP and Health Canada requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with GMP and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in daily production activities, including equipment setup, material preparation, production operation, cleaning, and product changeovers.
- Monitor production performance and promptly report equipment or production issues.
- Support the achievement of daily production targets while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor mechanical repairs.
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate with external service providers when major repairs or technical support are required.
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in implementing preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, production efficiency, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Comply with GMP, Health Canada regulations, food safety requirements, and workplace health & safety policies.
- Follow all company procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to safely use common hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
- Willingness to participate in both production operations and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read basic English equipment manuals and operating instructions.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
- Experience operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments.

Working Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Regular working hours will generally be scheduled Monday through Friday.
- Working hours may vary based on production schedules and operational requirements.
- Occasional evening, weekend, or overtime work may be required to support production activities, equipment maintenance, or urgent operational needs.
- Where operationally appropriate, time off in lieu may be provided in accordance with Company policy.
