Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper is a leading northern bleached softwood kraft and power producer. Located on Lake Superior, the Thunder Bay mill has been a landmark company of northwestern Ontario since 1919. In August 2023, Atlas Holdings established Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper as an independent pulp and paper operation, joining Atlas’ global family of manufacturing and distribution businesses.

We are looking for a Red Seal Millwright to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. The Millwright must have a strong knowledge of mechanical systems, be able to read blueprints and schematics. The ideal candidate will also have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Maintenance employees can earn an additional $1.75/hour once an on-line course is completed. We offer both day and shift work opportunities with day shift workers scheduled to work four days, 10 hour shifts per week and shift workers working a four on four off 12 hour shift rotation. We provide relocation assistance to Thunder Bay.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications.
- Inspect and test machinery for proper functioning.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform tasks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems and make necessary repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
