Role Description:
The Marketing Coordinator supports the Marketing Director in planning and executing Cloverdale’s marketing activities across digital and social channels, events, tenant communications and community initiatives. This role helps elevate the Cloverdale brand, support centre traffic, strengthen community connection and deliver consistent, on-brand guest experiences. Day to day, the Marketing Coordinator owns social content creation, website updates, event support, tenant communications and in-centre storytelling.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to marketing initiatives that build brand awareness, support shopping centre traffic, enhance guest engagement and strengthen Cloverdale’s community connection.
Ensure marketing initiatives reflect Cloverdale’s brand look, feel, voice and positioning across digital/social, website, email, events, signage and in-centre communications.
Participate in strategy, retail and property-level meetings, sharing updates, insights and recommendations.
Manage Cloverdale’s digital and social channels, including content planning, creation, scheduling, monitoring and performance reporting.
Maintain an “always-on” content approach that keeps Cloverdale’s digital presence active, timely and engaging.
Capture real-time, on-site content including Reels, Stories, static posts, retailer highlights, seasonal displays, events, community programs and activations.
Use interactive social features, photography, short-form video and creative content formats to increase engagement.
Manage website content updates, including events, store promotions, retail directory and community programming.
Support email marketing, e-newsletters and database growth through regular deployment, cross-promotion, data collection and audience-focused communications.
Track, report and share insights on social, digital, website and email performance.
Support the planning and execution of Cloverdale events and programming, including signature events, seasonal campaigns, community initiatives and retailer activations.
Assist with event concepts, develop timelines and workback schedules, vendor coordination, staffing, insurance documentation and day-of execution.
Coordinate event promotional plans across social media, email, website, booking platforms, Wi-Fi splash pages, signage and local listings, with clear go-live timelines.
Prepare post-event debriefs and recommendations for future improvement.
Support the coordination of holiday programming, décor, Santa set execution and other seasonal guest experience initiatives.
Build strong tenant relationships by proactively identifying marketing support opportunities, gathering feedback and sharing insights with the Marketing Director.
Conduct regular mall walks to engage tenants and guests, observe customer behaviour and identify marketing or operational opportunities.
Coordinate tenant communications and engagement initiatives, including newsletters, coffee chats, appreciation initiatives and training/educational events.
Manage retailer merchandise sign-out and return for marketing collateral, social media, events and promotional needs.
Support community partner programs by attending onsite activations, capturing content, keeping website/tenant communications updated and reinforcing Cloverdale’s role as a local community hub.
Ensure vendor requirements, insurance documentation and event paperwork are completed accurately and on time.
Create purchase orders, track marketing expenses and support budget administration.
Update and maintain the marketing manual and other shared marketing resources.
Support corporate, national retail and QuadReal brand initiatives as required.
Identify tools, platforms and process improvements, including AI-enabled tools, to streamline workflows, reporting and marketing support.
Perform other related marketing duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of related experience in marketing, communications, social media, digital content and/or event coordination.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
Experience creating social media content, including photography, short-form video, Reels, Stories and static posts.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills for guest, tenant, community and internal communications.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently, anticipate next steps and move projects forward.
Ability to manage administrative requirements accurately, including purchase orders, budgets, event documentation and reporting.
Comfortable building relationships with tenants, vendors, community partners and internal stakeholders.
Ability to deal with ambiguity, adapt to change and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Curiosity and openness to using new tools, platforms and technologies, including AI tools, to improve marketing workflows and outcomes.
Experience with website content management, email marketing, social media scheduling tools and basic performance reporting is considered an asset.
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, and Canva is considered an asset.
Experience with Yardi for purchase orders and expense tracking is considered an asset.
This position is primarily based at Cloverdale Mall and requires occasional evening and weekend work to support events, programming, community partner activations, content capture and other marketing initiatives.
The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $60,000-$65,000.
