McMillan has an exciting opportunity as a full-time, bilingual, Legal Administrative Assistant in our Montréal Litigation group. office. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in managing legal and administrative aspects of the practice for successful legal professionals.

Please note that this role offers a hybrid workweek. Each week will combine both working at home for a few days and working in the office for the balance. Your hybrid schedule will start once you join McMillan!

What You’ll Do

You will be a key addition to the dynamic Litigation team, maximizing your skills in Microsoft Office Suite and attention to detail. You will be involved in a wide variety of tasks, including:

Preparing/drafting and revising correspondence and various court documents
Notify, serve and file court documents
Manage legal document management systems and court filing platforms
Scheduling mediations, pre-trials and trial dates, amongst other scheduling tasks
Open, organize, and maintain electronic and physical litigation files
Monitor procedural deadlines and manage reminder systems
Assist with file closing and archiving in accordance with firm policies
Act as the go-to person for your team, providing guidance and organizational support.
Leverage technology to service clients in an efficient and effective manner.

What You Bring

A minimum of five years of professional experience as a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant
Bilingualism required to communicate with clients and business partners located outside the Province of Quebec
Familiar with proceedings before the Court of Quebec, the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PPT), Adobe Acrobat Pro
Prior experience with iManage, Intapp, and 3E or similar document management, file opening, and accounting software is considered an asset
Strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills (both oral and written)
Proactive, detail-oriented and able to effectively meet deadlines
Work well independently and within a team setting
Provide an exceptional level of client service
Proactive and flexible attitude
Keen attention to detail, including thorough proofreading skills in both languages
Strong knowledge of the Quebec Code of Civil Procedure
