Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and experience in tile laying, ensuring high-quality installations that meet our clients' specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a solid understanding of blueprints and schematics, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. As a Tile Setter, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and functionality of residential and commercial spaces.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary materials.
Measure and cut tiles to fit designated areas accurately.
Lay tiles according to design plans, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
Apply grout, caulking, and other finishing materials to complete installations.
Collaborate with other construction professionals including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians as needed.
Operate heavy equipment safely when required for site preparation or material transport.
Conduct restoration work as needed on existing surfaces prior to new tile installation.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tile laying or flooring installation is essential.
Familiarity with construction techniques including concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, and plumbing is preferred.
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to tile setting.
Knowledge of construction estimating practices is beneficial for project planning.
Experience with concrete finishing is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
