CAD (MECHANICAL DESIGN) TECHNOLOGIST
Are you a highly organized professional with a knack for designing? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Nemx Skilled Trades is looking for an experienced CAD (Mechanical Design) Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of structural design experience to join team on a full-time, permanent basis. As our client base grows - so does our team and we are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong mechanical aptitude to join our team.
Duties:
Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs and drawings using SolidWorks and DraftSight.
Collaborate with the account management, purchasing and bid teams to create concept drawings and visual aids for client proposals.
Work closely with the shop fabrication team to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and optimized for fabrication.
Coordinate and collaborate with external contractors and partners in the design and engineering field to support project requirements.
Render detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, and all related documentation required for structural design
Participate in project review meetings and provide design input to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
Support the design and engineering process from concept through to final production.
Lead special design projects as assigned by ownership.
Help establish and document design standards, templates, and workflows as part of building our internal design department.
Qualifications:
Should possess a minimum of 10 years of CAD mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment - - 5 + years of experience in structural design a must
EDUCATION: Mechanical Technologist
Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, DraftSight
Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel)Good communication skills – written and verbal
