Position Overview
The Junior Construction Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of residential construction projects across Leyad’s portfolio, with a focus on multi-residential developments and building renovations. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
The Project Manager will oversee multiple active construction sites concurrently, managing all phases of construction from pre-construction through to project close-out. This includes coordination of site teams, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent execution across all projects.
This role requires regular travel between provinces, including Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, to oversee active residential construction projects, ensure site operations remain on schedule, and manage budgets across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and administration of residential construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to project requirements, building codes, and applicable regulations.
- Support estimating and budgeting activities, including obtaining quotations, reviewing contractor proposals, tracking project costs, and assisting with cost reporting.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to support project timelines and milestones.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders regarding schedule, budget, and project status.
- Support quality assurance activities by conducting site visits, documenting deficiencies, and following up on corrective actions.
- Assist with identifying project risks and issues, escalating concerns to senior team members and supporting the implementation of solutions.
- Coordinate procurement activities and assist with contract administration, document management, and communication with vendors, subcontractors, consultants, and clients/tenants.
- Support site safety initiatives by promoting compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and participating in site inspections and safety meetings.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, change orders, permits, and project records.
- Perform other project coordination and administrative duties as assigned to support the successful delivery of residential construction projects.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience managing residential construction projects, preferably within multi-residential or mixed-use real estate.

Travel Requirements
This role requires regular travel to construction sites across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, as well as other locations across Canada as needed to support active residential projects.
