Front of House Supervisor Position Summary
Carrying Place Golf & Country Club is seeking an experienced and service-driven Front of House Supervisor to support the daily operations of our Food & Beverage department. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Front of House Supervisor plays a key role in delivering exceptional member and guest experiences while leading the front of house team with professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to excellence.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, supports team development, and ensures the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and operational efficiency are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Service
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality to members, guests, and event attendees.
- Supervise and support servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff during service.
- Assist with staff scheduling, daily floor plans, and service assignments.
- Coach, mentor, and train team members on service standards, product knowledge, and club expectations.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment aligned with the Club's core values.
- Address member and guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive resolution whenever possible.
Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Monitor dining room, patio, bar, and event operations to maintain service standards.
- Ensure all opening, closing, and side work duties are completed accurately.
- Support the coordination of special events, tournaments, member functions, and private bookings.
- Maintain effective communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
Inventory Management & Ordering:
- Assist with inventory management for beverage, bar, and front-of-house supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and identify ordering requirements to prevent shortages.
- Place orders with approved suppliers as directed by management.
- Receive and verify deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Assist in controlling costs through proper product handling, rotation, and waste reduction practices.
- Monitor beverage and supply usage and provide recommendations for improving efficiencies and profitability.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Operate and oversee POS systems, cash handling procedures, and daily reconciliations.
- Assist with daily sales reporting and end-of-day procedures.
- Monitor labour deployment throughout service to support operational efficiency.
- Support management with administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation as required.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, liquor service, workplace safety, and health regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are consistently followed.
- Support the implementation and enforcement of Club policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, hospitality, golf club, or food and beverage environment.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food service, and beverage service.
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of inventory control, ordering, and cost management practices.
- Smart Serve Certification required.
- Food Handler Certification considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
