As a Material Handler (Forklift Operator), you will be in close communication with various departments within the organization and will help to coordinate the efficient flow of materials and finished goods into and out of the Machining department. Responsibilities include some care of the CNC machines, such as changing oil and filling coolant.
Location: 1556 Industrial Road, Cambridge, ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 6:30am – 3:00pm, Monday - Friday
Job Duties
- Safely and efficiently move raw materials and finished products between departments, maintaining the flow of production
- Perform daily inspections of material handling equipment (forklift, walkie), and report any minor or major damage to the equipment
- Organize and maintain 5S in storage areas both within the plant and outside
- Review paperwork to locate parts and transport them to departments throughout the plant
- Follow written directions, interpret schedules, shipping documents, and drawings
- Communicate with project managers and supervisors to understand production schedules

- Adapt to a changing work environment, manage competing demands, and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Effective organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic, and the ability to multi-task
- Physical requirements include driving (80%), standing, and climbing
- Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outdoors
Qualifications
- Previous material handling experience in an industrial setting
- Prior forklift training and experience is required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multi-task
