Summary
We’re looking for a Service Technician with 3-5 years of experience to join our growing team in Mississauga, ON. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you’ll be responsible for performing detailed assembly of light to medium duty Automated Testing Cells/Machines and robotic type automated equipment using standard shop procedures and tools. Additionally, you will travel to customers’ facilities to install or service 416 Automation products. Day-to-day activities involve working with a team of 6-10 technicians in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and precision is critical.
Position Type: Full-Time
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, and you must be flexible with working overtime

This role is on-site and requires 25% travel to customer locations in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico for commissioning and integration.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing electrical control panels and assemble mechanical components and sub-systems from schematics, drawings and build documentation
- Conduct complete equipment validation, ensuring all electrical and mechanical systems function correctly before software integration
- Proficiently build and assemble electrical panels and junction boxes to ensure efficient operation
- Solder and assemble test cables to meet precise specifications and standards
- Successfully assemble mechanical equipment with precision and attention to detail
- Integrate electrical, mechanical, and software components seamlessly for optimal system functionality
- Actively participate and lead small project installation trips to integrate 416 equipment at customer sites
- Work more independently on troubleshooting in a Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment to swiftly resolve issues and minimize downtime (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic)
- Support Senior Technicians and Integrators during commissioning
- Provide feedback on recurring build issues to improve efficiency
- Actively contribute to the research and development of innovative testing solutions
- Execute installations globally across Canada, USA, and Mexico
- Maintain strong customer relationships through on-site support visits, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical diploma in mechatronics/automation strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience assembling automated equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with industry standard electrical/mechanical/electronic assembly practices
- Familiar with SolidWorks/AutoCAD
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Must be able to handle physical requirements of the job (continuous standing, occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds)
- Exceptional communication (written & verbal in the English language) and interpersonal skills
