Position Overview
Asset Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the construction of a new apartment building in downtown Hamilton.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating trades and subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining project schedules, and enforcing health and safety standards throughout all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and construction crews to maintain productivity and schedules.
- Ensure work complies with project drawings, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Conduct site inspections, quality control reviews, and deficiency assessments.
- Enforce health and safety policies and Ontario construction regulations.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve site issues, delays, and conflicts.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment rentals, and site logistics.
- Maintain daily reports, site logs, progress records, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and Owners.
- Lead site meetings and coordinate inspections with municipal officials and consultants.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code, permits, and industry standards.
- Monitor labour productivity and resource allocation.
- Review subcontractor progress and completed work.
- Foster a professional, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision or site management.
- Experience with apartment, condominium, multi-residential, mixed-use, or commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems.
- Thorough understanding of the Ontario Building Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and inspections.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Buildertrend, or similar software is an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and reliable transportation.
Required Certifications
- Working at Heights (Valid)
- WHMIS Certification
- Health and Safety Awareness Training
Preferred:
- First Aid/CPR Certification
Compensation & Benefits
- $70,000 annual salary
