We're looking for a bilingual communications professional who is equally comfortable building relationships with publishers, managing digital content, reviewing French copy, and helping great content reach the right audience.
About the Role
The Bilingual Media Relations & Digital Publishing Specialist plays a critical role in how content moves from client approval to publication, promotion, and audience engagement.
You will work closely with our production team to ensure content is accurately published, effectively distributed, and actively promoted across the News Canada publisher network and related channels.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys relationship building, digital publishing, content promotion, and managing multiple moving pieces at once.

What You'll Do
Media Relations & Publisher Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with publishers, editors, content managers, and media partners
- Conduct publisher outreach in English and French to promote relevant content
- Follow up with editors regarding content opportunities and usage
- Identify and recruit new publisher partners across Canada
- Maintain media and publisher contact databases
- Support publisher onboarding and engagement initiatives
- Gather publisher feedback and identify opportunities to improve content performance and reach
- Help strengthen and expand the News Canada publisher network
Digital Publishing, Newsletter Operations & Content Distribution
- Publish approved content to our platforms
- Upload articles, images, audio files, videos, and supporting assets
- Manage content formatting, categorization, metadata, tagging, scheduling, and quality assurance
- Ensure English and French versions are accurately published, linked, and displayed
- Maintain organized content archives, publishing workflows, and content libraries
- Create and distribute publisher newsletters
- Select and package content for newsletter promotion and write supporting blurbs and copy
- Maintain publisher mailing lists, segmentation, and newsletter schedules
- Monitor newsletter engagement and share insights to support content promotion and audience growth
- Support content distribution initiatives across multiple platforms and channels
Bilingual Editorial Quality Assurance & French Audio Review
- Review and quality-check English and French content, including translations, headlines, metadata, descriptions, captions, and promotional copy
- Copy edit English content and ensure French content is accurate, natural, and aligned with Canadian French standards
- Ensure consistency between approved and published content across articles, radio, newsletters, social media, and other formats
- Identify and resolve content, publishing, or quality issues prior to distribution and promotion
- Attend French radio recording sessions as needed to review script accuracy, pronunciation, pacing, tone, and overall audio quality
- Coordinate revisions and support final approval of French-language audio assets
Social Media & Audience Development
- Manage and maintain social channels
- Develop content calendars and publishing schedules
- Create and adapt content for social platforms
- Support audience growth initiatives
- Monitor engagement trends and identify new opportunities to increase visibility and reach
- Repurpose existing content to maximize performance
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Fully bilingual in English and French (written and verbal)
- 3+ years of experience in communications, media relations, publishing, journalism, content marketing, or a related field
- Strong written communication skills in both English and French
- Experience building professional relationships with external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Comfortable learning and working within publishing platforms, CRM systems, and content management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reviewing, editing, or quality-checking translated English and French content, with the ability to identify linguistic, cultural, and editorial nuances
- Familiarity with editorial-style content, publishing processes, and digital content distribution workflows
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS), newsletter platforms, or website publishing tools
- Experience supporting publisher relations, media relations, communications, or earned media initiatives
- Experience with social media content planning, scheduling, or audience engagement

Location
Hybrid role based in Toronto, Ontario.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
