RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
Department / Research Program: RI MUHC- CHAL-VHU
Under the immediate supervision of Dr. Stella Daskalopoulou, Director of the Vascular Health Unit, the incumbent will be involved in the conduct of clinical and basic research studies that aim to improve the primary care of patients and, to reduce the consequences of cardiovascular disease.
General Duties
- Help in preparing and setting up materials and equipment,
- Assist in laboratory projects and experiments,
- Assist in results recording,
- Assist in Grant application submissions,
- Collect and maintain data,
- Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines,
- Accomplish any other administrative/clerical tasks as required by the immediate supervisor,
- Participate in lab meetings.

Education / Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: in a related field
Work Experience: 0-6 months
Required Skills
- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Demonstrates an attitude which communicates support to other departments and colleagues,
- Works with general supervision, follows established policies and procedures,
- Prioritizes work, meets deadlines,
- Good organizational and communication skills,
- Good judgment is shown in advising the Program Manager and/or delegate of unusual situations or issues,
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications such as, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint,
- Omics data analyses ,
- Knowledge of programing languages such as phyton and R,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
