Assertive Community Treatment Team Manager

The Opportunity
We have a full-time, regular position available for a manager to work within CMHA’s Assertive Community Treatment Team in our Community Housing with Supports program. Our housing services includes all three levels of Housing First. The Assertive Community Treatment Team is a person-centred, recovery-focused mental health service for people with serious, persistent, and complex mental health, addiction, and trauma needs.
The Position
The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Manager supports the multidisciplinary ACT team and oversees housing resource coordination within the agency. The Manager guides staff in applying Housing First, Harm Reduction, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and other clinical approaches (e.g., Stages of Change, Motivational Interviewing) to help participants develop the skills and resources needed to choose, get, and keep housing. Other participant goals may include meaningful roles related to work, learning, and social connection. The Manager also oversees staff responsible for housing procurement, builds and maintains relationships with property owners, and supports the team in eviction prevention planning. The current targeted range for this position is $66,469.61 to $81,749.24 per year. Compensation will be determined through an assessment of relevant work experience and according to established out-of-scope salary scales, based on a 35-hour work week.
The Qualifications
Required
- 3-year post-secondary degree in a human service- related discipline such as social work or nursing.
- Eligible for registration in your professional designation.
- Five years’ experience in a community-based mental health or addiction related setting.
- Three years' demonstrated leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach and engagement, including work with populations experiencing chronic homelessness.
- Leading change management processes with a view to increase and enhance program delivery.
- Proficiency in Housing First, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and recovery-oriented services.
- Understanding of stigma impacts, trauma impacts, colonization impacts, poverty, homelessness, mental health, addictions, and related systems and community services.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultural healing practices and resources.
- Best practices in mental health services.
- Effective communication, comprehension, and cultural safety skills.
- Knowledgeable of crisis intervention strategies and risk assessment.
- Ability to apply principles of psychological safety and incident debriefing.
- Demonstrated work performance satisfactory to the employer.
- Satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Sector record check.
- Satisfactory Child and Adult abuse registry checks.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing.
- Comfortable with Case Management Software and HIFIS.
- Advocacy skills while remaining professional.
- Ability to develop program proposals and funding requests.
