Duties and responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial fire sprinkler piping systems and accessories.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the fire sprinkler system
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools, such as levels and plumb bobs.
- Cut and core holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
- Measure, cut, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, and threading machines.
- Troubleshoot fire sprinkler system problems and identify appropriate solutions.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site.
- Support the growth and development of company culture.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Completion of Level 1 Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Program
- Basic understanding of fire sprinkler system components and installation methods
- Able to read construction drawings
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 8 hours a day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kg
