Designed from the ground up, our new 20,000+ square foot, state-of-the-art Emergency and Specialty Hospital, located at 11650 18 Street NE, Calgary, Alberta, officially opened its doors with our Surgical Service in May 2026. We are now expanding our team as we launch our 24-hour Emergency Service.
Fuller Animal Specialty Hospital (Fuller Animal Inc.) is a family owned, referral-based small animal specialty hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Our mission is to provide exceptional patient care through compassion, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
Our hospital was designed with patient and employee comfort in mind. As a stand-alone building, we have windows throughout, bringing in natural light into all treatment areas. The dog ward and cat ICU wake up to the morning sun. The sun set is captured in our lobby, southwest facing exam rooms and employee areas. The first floor is the clinical area. We have multiple operating rooms, dog and cat ICU, multiple Canon radiology suites, Canon ultrasound rooms, special procedures area (endoscopy and dentistry), Canon computed tomography, large exam rooms designed for specialists and emergency clinicians, Idexx and Antech inhouse lab and a large treatment area. The second floor is for employees and continued education events.
We are currently seeking compassionate, skilled, and motivated Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) to join our Specialty and Emergency teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced emergency veterinarians, registered veterinary technologists, and board-certified specialists while providing exceptional care to critically ill and injured patients.

Position Responsibilities
As an Emergency RVT, you will play an essential role in patient care and support all aspects of emergency medicine. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Triage emergency patients and assist with rapid patient assessment.
- Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical records.
- Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters.
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostics.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor anesthesia for emergency and surgical procedures.
- Assist with emergency surgeries and advanced procedures.
- Perform diagnostic imaging, including radiography, as required.
- Monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients, recognizing changes in patient status and communicating findings promptly.
- Perform nursing care, including catheter maintenance, wound care, bandage changes, nutritional support, and pain management.
- Assist with CPR and advanced life support during medical emergencies.
- Educate and communicate with clients regarding patient care, discharge instructions, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic medical record software.
- Assist with inventory management and maintenance of emergency equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment and hospital environment.
- Mentor veterinary assistants and support a collaborative team culture.
Qualifications Applicants must:
- Be a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) in good standing or be eligible for registration in Alberta.
- Demonstrate excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented emergency environment.
- Be compassionate, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Be willing to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Previous experience in emergency, critical care, surgery, anesthesia, or specialty medicine is considered an asset but is not required.
