Laser Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Laser Operator will set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and production schedules. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate laser cutting machines according to production requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
Inspect finished products using measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Follow workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment is preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
Basic computer and machine control skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills

Experience with CNC programming or nesting software.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Familiarity with quality control procedures.
Forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing or production environment.
Standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
Exposure to machinery, noise, and metal materials.
May require overtime or shift work depending on production demands.

Pay: $19.00-$29.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
