Ascend Pediatrics is expanding and has an opening for an Occupational Therapist! Ascend Pediatrics specializes in providing clinical, in-home, school or community supports to families as well as fly in, fly out contracts within Northern Alberta and Northwest Territories! This unique position will allow you to expand your skills of working as an individual and a part of a multi-disciplinary team within the community and family homes within Calgary, Airdrie and Surrounding Areas. Ascend Pediatrics values supporting families where they are at and supporting them in self-care, regulation, iADLS, fine motor, community engagement, social thinking and mental health supports. With a flexible schedule and multiple opportunities to grow in your paediatric skills you can expand in so many different ways!

We are able to offer a flexible environment and scheduling as an hourly employee for a temporary position, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent roll. New graduates will be considered for the position, as a mentorship opportunity is available to help expand their skills and knowledge. At this time, we are open to discussing scheduling and caseload numbers with the chosen candidate.

Responsibilities:

Complete intake evaluations and discuss strengths and challenges for the child and their family.
Evaluate functional status and environmental factors within the home and community.
Ability to engage in standardized assessments within School and Home environments.
Establish treatment goals and prioritizing areas of need with the family.
Implement treatment goals and be a strong communicator with the team members about collaborative goals
Client documentation and reports will be required within the treatment program.
Engagement in school consultations with school teams, such as teachers and program providers.

The Ideal Candidate:

Be comfortable working independently, as well as within a multi-disciplinary team
Show strong time management skills and flexibility within scheduling
Experience working with children of different ages and developmental needs.
Available for after school sessions with families and team members.
Knowledge with sensory & self-regulation for children of complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours
Experience and knowledge of the FSCD & Alberta Education PUF programming is considered an asset.

Registered within ACOT
Professional Liability Insurance
Open to New Graduates

Pay: $40.00-$48.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:

Registration with ACOT (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Cochrane, AB
