PURPOSE
To provide supervisory oversight for a group(s) of Concrete Reinforcing Technicians (CRT’s), including coordinating work, ensuring that job standards are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrate leadership that reflects Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision, values, and commitment to operational excellence.
2. Monitor and assess the performance, workload balance, and overall development of team members to ensure alignment with project objectives, company standards, and operational expectations.
3. Supervise CRTs, review their work, and provide guidance, coaching, and support to help resolve challenges, correct deficiencies, and promote continuous skill development.
4. Provide clear direction to the team to support successful execution of project objectives, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
5. Actively track project progress, including employee performance and assigned tasks, ensuring accurate and timely updates to support decision making and project outcomes.
6. Lead the team in achieving measurable operational and financial success by monitoring project financials, identifying cost saving opportunities, and ensuring accurate reporting of labour and material expenditures.
7. Continually reassess drafting techniques and recommend integrated, cost effective solutions to improve efficiencies and contribute to the development of recommended actions.
8. Assist in the performance review process for assigned CRT personnel, including providing performance feedback and recommending appropriate salary adjustments based on business needs and individual contribution.
9. Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a Senior CRT with a solid understanding of team workflows
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or leading others, with demonstrated ability to coach and motivate
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
- General leadership or supervisory training considered an asset
- Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD considered an asset
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 2-year technical diploma from an accredited school or college
- Critical thinking skills and have the ability to creatively motivate CRT’s
