The Line Cook supports kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, ensuring food quality, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. Responsibilities include preparing soups, sauces, and breaded items, following standardized recipes, organizing food supplies and utensils for the chef, and ensuring kitchen equipment remains clean and operational.

Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, and cleaning, cutting, and grinding meats, poultry, and seafood.

Prepare soups and sauces by stirring, straining, and following standard preparation methods.

Bread food items by coating with crumbs, flour, or batter as required.

Control recipes by accurately weighing and measuring designated ingredients.

Support the chef by transporting food items, pans, kettles, and trays between workstations, stoves, and refrigeration units.

Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant kitchen environment by cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils, properly disposing of waste, and adhering to sanitation standards and legal regulations.

Keep supplies stocked by inventorying items, requisitioning ingredients, verifying deliveries, and organizing storage areas.

Ensure kitchen equipment remains in working order by following proper operating procedures, troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs when necessary.

Food handlers certificate required.
Physical Requirements

Capable of walking, standing, sitting, crawling, bending, twisting, reaching up to and including above shoulder level, crouching/squatting, and kneeling, for the duration of your shift.

Capable of climbing multiple flights of stairs. Dexterity of the fingers and hands with ability to squeeze hands, twist and rotate wrists and elbows.

Ability to do weight bearing tasks with arms, ex. lifting/using heavy pans, baking sheets, food pans etc.

Ability to work for extended periods in varying temperature ranges.

Ability to work in coolers or freezers for short periods of time.

Ability to do repetitive tasks for an extended period of time.

Visual acuity to see colour, near vision ability, tactile, smell and tasting abilities.

Capable of working in a loud environment.

Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs.

Ability to lift 15lbs overhead.
Additional Requirements
Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources.
