Join the Team at Fifty Parallel Tap & Grill

Fifty Parallel Tap & Grill is a busy, locally owned restaurant in Campbell River serving high-quality pub favourites with a Greek influence. From steaks, burgers, seafood, and handcrafted pizzas to authentic Greek dishes and creative daily features, we pride ourselves on great food, excellent service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated Sous Chef to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in producing exceptional food, and leads by example. Working alongside our Head Chef, you will help oversee daily kitchen operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef with all aspects of daily kitchen operations.
Lead the kitchen confidently in the Head Chef’s absence.
Prepare and present menu items with consistency and attention to detail.
Help create daily features and contribute ideas for seasonal menu items.
Train, coach, and support line cooks and prep staff.
Ensure food is prepared safely and meets all health and sanitation standards.
Assist with ordering, inventory management, and food cost control.
Minimize waste while maintaining product quality.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen.
Passion for quality food and exceptional guest experiences.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy service.
Experience with inventory and food cost management is considered an asset.
Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain).
Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
