Company: LearnStar Educational Programs Inc.
Location: St. Edward's School
Job type: Part-time, school-year position
Employment term: September to June, with the possibility of returning the following school year
Schedule: Monday to Friday, morning program 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and after-school program 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

About the Position

LearnStar Educational Programs Inc. is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic and organized Assistant Supervisor to join our team at St. Edward's School.

The Assistant Supervisor will work closely with the Site Supervisor to support the daily operation of the program, provide leadership to staff and help ensure a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for students. The successful candidate must be available for both the morning and after-school programs.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Site Supervisor with the daily operation of the program.
Assume Supervisor responsibilities when the Site Supervisor is unavailable.
Provide close and attentive supervision of participating children.
Support the delivery of LearnStar programming and educational activities.
Assist K-6 students with homework
Help coordinate daily staff duties, activities and program setup.
Track employee hours and assist with submitting timesheets by required deadlines.
Communicate staff, child or program concerns promptly and professionally.
Attend and contribute to staff meetings.
Help maintain a clean, organized, safe and hygienic program environment.
Build positive working relationships with children, families, school administration and LearnStar staff.
Ensure staff follow LearnStar policies, procedures and service expectations.
Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate LearnStar's values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility.
Perform additional duties and occasionally work extra time when required for program needs or special events.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with children is considered an asset.
Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills.
Reliable, responsible and able to provide direction and support to staff.
Comfortable assisting K-6 students with homework
Able to work collaboratively with the Site Supervisor, school staff and families.
Available for both morning and after-school programming, Monday to Friday.
Current First Aid and CPR, WHMIS, RNC Record of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
