We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Finance& Accounting to join our Financial Reporting team in Toronto.In this role, you will beresponsible for leading financial reporting, tax financial statement preparation, statutory audit support, regulatory filing support, and overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. This role requires strong working knowledge of fundamental financial accounting principles, full-cycle accounting, and end-to-end close processes, including how journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, trial balance activity, reporting packages, financial statement preparation, audit support, and related deliverables fit together.The Senior Analyst must be able to review journal entries, reporting packages, reconciliations, and supporting schedules; identify issues; coordinate follow-up; and escalate matters appropriately. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external auditors, tax advisors, and regional finance teams. The role supports accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, effective controls, process improvement, and timely delivery across competing priorities.You will be responsible for:
- Leading and reviewing financial reporting deliverables across assigned entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance with accounting standards, and alignment with internal reporting requirements.
- Supporting and reviewing full-cycle accounting activities across assigned legal entities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, trial balance activity, financial statement preparation, audit support, and related reporting deliverables.
- Overseeing and coordinating end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including review of key journal entries, reporting packages, supporting schedules, close controls, issue escalation, and confirmation that required documentation is completed.
- Leading the preparation of annual tax financial statements and supporting schedules for Canadian and U.S. entities, and support pension, UK, and Australian statutory audit and financial statement deliverables, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax advisors throughout the reporting process.
- Preparing and coordinating regulatory reporting and filing support, including pension plan filings, RECA, RECBC, FSRA and ASIC statutory filing support, FCA regulatory reporting requirements, and other applicable jurisdictional compliance deliverables.
- Reviewing general ledger activity, balance sheet, journal entries, and bank reconciliation items, and accounting variances to identify issues, coordinate follow-up, and support timely resolution across multiple regions.
- Coordinating operational accounting follow-up across assigned regions, including intercompany reconciliations, cross-border chargebacks, invoice coding guidance, payment follow-up, cash and working capital matters, funding-related inquiries, and other close-driven accounting items, working with Financial Analysts and relevant stakeholders to resolve open items.
- Managing ad hoc requests and operational initiatives across assigned regions, including assessing requirements, prioritizing competing deliverables, assigning or delegating work to Financial Analysts where appropriate, monitoring progress, supporting issue resolution, and escalating matters requiring management review.
- Preparing and reviewing Asset Management Fee calculations, estimates, supporting analyses, and related revenue and corporate recharge billing activities.
- Assisting in maintaining effective financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting procedures to support compliance and operational excellence.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, strengthen internal controls, and support automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function.
- Collaborating with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Human Resources, external auditors, tax advisors, and regional stakeholders to coordinate deliverables, resolve open items, and support timely completion of reporting, audit, regulatory, and operational accounting requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
- Providing technical guidance, reviewing support, coaching, and mentorship to Financial Analysts, helping to develop accounting judgment, strengthen review quality, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Required Skills& Experience:
- CPA designation is required.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- Progressive accounting or financial reporting experience, preferably within a large corporate or multinational organization.
- Strong financial reporting& technical accounting expertise: The role is heavily focused on financial reporting, IFRS/accounting standards, statutory financial statements, audit support, regulatory filings, and legal entity reporting across multiple jurisdictions.Having a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls is a must.
- Full-cycle accounting, audits& close process knowledge: A key requirement is understanding the end-to-end accounting process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, trial balance activity, reporting packages, close controls, and how these deliverables connect.We need someone who has experience coordinating internal and external audits and working with external advisors.
- Analytical review, issue identification,& problem-solving skills: The role requires someone who can review work, identify issues or variances, coordinate follow-up, resolve open items, and escalate matters appropriately. Strong analytical, organizational, critical thinking and attention to detail are key success factors here.
- Stakeholder coordination, communication,& mentorship: The position involves working with internal teams, auditors, tax advisors, Treasury, AP, Payroll, HR, and regional stakeholders, while also providing guidance, review support, coaching, and mentorship to analysts and junior team members.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple business functions is an asset.
Preferred Skills& Experience:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Yardi or similar financial systems.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize conflicting deadlines, manage multiple deliverables across reporting cycles, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, process optimization, and delivering high-quality financial reporting.

The expected salary range for this position is $72,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year.
