The Opportunity
As a Production Truss Builder, you'll work alongside an experienced production team building high-quality roof trusses used in residential, commercial, and agricultural construction projects throughout British Columbia.
Using engineered drawings, precision measuring, hand tools, pneumatic equipment, and advanced production technology, you'll assemble structural building components that meet the highest quality standards.
This is a physically active role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to develop valuable construction and manufacturing skills.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assemble roof trusses accurately using engineered drawings and production specifications.
- Set up and adjust truss jigs using Virtek laser projection systems.
- Position lumber and connector plates with precision to ensure quality and structural integrity.
- Safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, production equipment, and machinery.
- Read and interpret production drawings and measurements.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain WWTA quality standards on every truss produced.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and safe.
- Participate in company safety meetings, inspections, and ongoing training.
- Cross-train in other production departments and assist where required.
- Work collaboratively with Lead Hands and team members to meet daily production goals.
You're a Great Fit If You Have
- Previous truss building experience is a strong asset but not required.
- Experience in construction, framing, carpentry, manufacturing, or other skilled labour positions.
- Comfortable using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and reading a tape measure.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Stand, bend, twist, and perform repetitive physical work throughout the shift.
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and production equipment.
- Work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
