Senior Data Engineer (Fully Remote, Canada Only)

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design and operate scalable pipelines that move data from messy reality to trusted, curated datasets and dashboards while collaborating with architects, developers, and stakeholders to deliver iterative solutions that evolve with business needs.

Responsibilities-
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on premises and cloud platforms including Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, GCP, and AWS

Develop and optimize data models, including dimensional models (star and snowflake schemas) to improve performance and usability
-
Integrate data from diverse sources (relational, NoSQL, APIs, and files), using AI enabled data integration techniques such as intelligent mapping, schema discovery, metadata enrichment, and automated data quality validation

Enhance ETL and ELT processes through automation, performance tuning, and bottleneck reduction for high volume processing
-
Develop and operate end to end workflows using tools such as SSIS, Azure or Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows, and Notebooks, including validation, error handling, logging, monitoring, and scheduling

Implement CI CD practices for pipelines including automated testing, release management, and monitoring to improve delivery speed and reliability

Support enterprise platform management and governance including data lakes, data warehouses, security controls, and access management

Partner with cross functional teams to translate requirements into solutions and deliver curated data marts and fact and dimension tables

Analyze datasets to spot trends, patterns, and anomalies using statistical methods plus tools like DAX, Python, and R
-
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, creating calculated columns and measures and communicating results to stakeholders

Build predictive or descriptive models using Python or R based methods and integrate outputs into analytics workflows

Present findings clearly to non technical audiences and deliver solutions iteratively in an Agile environment, including mentoring to support analytics fluency and self service
Qualifications Required

Senior level experience delivering production grade data pipelines and data models for analytics and reporting

Hands on experience with cloud and hybrid data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, GCP, and or AWS)

Strong ETL and ELT engineering skills, including workflow orchestration, monitoring, logging, and operational reliability

Proven ability to design dimensional models (star and snowflake) and curate data marts for downstream analytics
-
Experience integrating data from multiple source types (databases, NoSQL, APIs, files) with a quality first mindset

Ability to work across multiple projects and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders

Must be able to pass a criminal records check, provide your own equipment, and reside in Canada
Nice to Have

Experience applying AI enabled data integration or data quality automation (schema discovery, metadata enrichment, intelligent mapping)

Strong analytics delivery background including Power BI, advanced DAX, and statistical analysis

Exposure to building predictive or descriptive models using Python and or R

Experience mentoring teams and enabling self service analytics in Agile delivery environments
