Full job description

SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager (AM) supports the Restaurant in ensuring delivery on guest satisfaction through managing the daily operations of a single restaurant. The AM helps manage financial controls, operations, people development, guest service and compliance across shifts for desired restaurant outcomes (i.e. increased sales, profitability and employee retention). The AM has full accountability for restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. An AM should be able to work long and/or irregular shifts, including extra shifts, as needed, for proper functioning of the restaurant. This position operates under the direct management of the Restaurant Manager and helps lead the restaurant team. This position interacts with restaurant team members, the Restaurant Manager, outside vendors, members of the field operations team and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor operational performance and adjust team assignments as needed to maintain service speed, product quality, and guest satisfaction.
Delegate tasks, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support team engagement to foster a positive work environment.
Ensure all food preparation procedures, recipes, portioning guidelines, and quality standards are consistently followed.
Maintain proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation practices to preserve product freshness, quality, and food safety standards.
Provide operational support by performing crew-level duties when required and assisting with break coverage to ensure smooth shift operations.
Uphold company sanitation and cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant, including kitchen, dining, and exterior areas.
Complete opening and closing duties accurately and efficiently during assigned shifts.
Manage inventory activities, including receiving deliveries, conducting stock counts, reporting discrepancies, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Handle cash management responsibilities, including cash reconciliation, deposits, and completion of shift reports related to sales, refunds, waste, and petty cash.
Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
Assist with the training and development of team members on food safety practices, operational procedures, and daily responsibilities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and audit-ready workplace while ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and regulations.
Support the execution of promotional campaigns and limited-time offers while ensuring compliance with company and brand standards.
Lead by example through positive leadership, effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays;
Prompt and regular attendance for assigned shifts, meetings and training.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year of experience in a QSR supervisory role
Prompt completion of all Burger King certification programs;
Good English skills and eligibility to work in Canada
Demonstrates leadership skills;
Demonstrates formal understanding of the quick service industry and the core customer;
Recognizes and solves routine problems;
Develops knowledge and skills in basic tasks, practices and procedures within own area;
